Dr. Abed Al-lehibi is the President of the Arabic Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the Chairman of the Gastroenterology & Hepatology, Department at King Fahad Medical City in Riyadh. He is also a Professor of Medicine at Dar Al Uloom University. Dr. Al-Lehibi completed his fellowships at Washington University in St. Louis and is an expert in advanced therapeutic endoscopy procedures. He established the Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship Program and the Saudi Live Endoscopy Symposium at King Fahad Medical City, contributing significantly to the field through numerous publications and presentations.

Dr. Ali Alali is currently an assistant professor in the department of medicine at Kuwait University and a consultant gastroenterologist Thunayan Alghanim center in Amiri hospital.

Dr. Alali finished his medical training at the National University of Ireland, Galway (NUIG). He then undertook his internal medicine and gastroenterology residency training at the University of Toronto. He did 2 advanced therapeutic endoscopy fellowships (EUS and ERCP) at McGill University in 2016 and St.Michael’s hospital in Toronto in 2017. In addition, he holds a masters degree in clinical epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM).

Dr. Alali has participated and presented in many international conferences including DDW and CDDW. He has a number of publications including abstracts, manuscripts and review articles in the field of gastroenterology. Furthermore, he was awarded the Marsha Dreyer award for excellence in research by the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE). His main research interest is related to endoscopy, pancreatic pathology and H.pylori treatment.

Dr, Amit Maydeo is currently the Chairman of the Institute of Gastro Sciences at Sir H. N.  Reliance Foundation Hospital in Mumbai, India. He has been the past president of the Society  of GI Endoscopy of India.  His main research interest has been in the field of GI Endoscopy, particularly Interventional  ERCP and the new speciality of 3rd Space Endoscopy. He has done original work in the areas of  endotherapy of chronic pancreatitis, GI bleeding, difficult CBD stones and 3rd space endoscopy.

Dr. Maydeo was the first to introduce 3rd space endoscopy procedures in India like POEM, STER  & ARMS procedures in India from 2012 and is also the pioneer to launch India’s first Bariatric  endoscopy program in 2018. In 2019, he introduced the (GERDx) procedure for GERD in India.

He has published over 200 papers in National and International peer reviewed journals and has  written chapters in 7 textbooks on GI Endoscopy and related topics. He is on the International  editorial board of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Endoscopy and is a Co-Editor of the Endoscopy  International Open journal. He has received the outstanding reviewer award from GIE for the  past 5 consecutive years. 

Dr Maydeo has been a visiting faculty for more than 400 endoscopy workshops all over the  world and has himself conducted 26 International LIVE endoscopy workshops in Mumbai over 
the past 31 years.

Dr Maydeo was recognized by the Government of India in the year 2013 when he received the  Padmashri award for his outstanding contribution to the field of medicine and gastroenterology  from the President of India. Dr Maydeo was appointed as Emeritus Professor in the department  of Surgery at the Seth GS Medical College in 2019 in Mumbai.

Prof Maydeo has also been an award winner in the 1st World Cup of Endoscopy held in Chicago  during the DDW and was selected to be a member of the jury for the endoscopy world cup  during DDW 2016.
Prof Maydeo is an avid teacher and runs a popular Endoscopy training institute called as the  Endoscopy Gurukul where aspiring young endoscopists from India and abroad are taught basic  as well as advanced GI Endoscopic procedures. 

Prof Maydeo is been appointed the Emeritus Professor in the Department of Surgery at  Topiwala National Medical College & B. Y. L. Nair Charitable Hospital (2024) Prof Maydeo has been awarded the Master Endoscopist award from the American Society of  Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) at the Digestive Disease Week (DDW 2025).

Dr. Amol Bapaye is an interventional GI endoscopist and  specializes in advanced biliary and pancreatic ERCP, diagnostic and interventional EUS, advanced endoscopic surgical procedures like ESD, POEM, STER and EFTR. 

He is amongst the best known ERCP & EUS experts in India.

He specializes in GI interventions for esophageal obstructions including cancers, non surgical management of stomach and intestinal   bleeds, removal of polyps, stenting of bile and pancreatic leaks and cancerous obstructions, removal of simple and difficult CBD and pancreatic stones. He is credited with introduction of Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection(ESD), a new endoscopic surgical technique. 

For patients with any problem related to  gastroenterology and liver diseases, Dr Amol is a beacon of hope in Pune and Maharashtra, having established a center of excellence at Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital for diagnosis and treatment of ailments of the digestive tract and minimally invasive surgeriesof the GI tract.
In a career spanning almost two decades, Dr Amol  has been and continues to be associated with most of the reputed tertiary care hospitals in Pune. He is a consultant and advisor to well known healthcare/ medical devices companies.

Dr. Bapaye is a member of Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopists of India (SGEI) since 2000 and has served on its governing council. He is a recipient of many awards. An academician and a researcher, Dr Amol enjoys a student following in India and abroad.
 
He is the first Endoscopist from Pune to be conferred a fellowship of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy(FASGE), which is reserved for individuals who have made significant contributions to the field of Endoscopy. Currently there are only about 300 doctors across the globe, who share this honour. 

Dr. Ashik Sainu Kadambot Mohiyadeen, is a renowned Interventional Gastroenterologist specializing in advanced therapeutic endoscopy. Leading a prominent medical practice in Muscat, Oman, he has over seven years of clinical leadership experience. As the Group Medical Director at Aster Hospitals Oman (2014-2023), he directed quality care and established clinical protocols. Currently, he heads the Gastroenterology department at Aster Royal Hospital, Muscat, where he established the first 24-hour GI Bleed unit and advanced endoscopy services in Oman’s private sector. He is a member of the Indian Society of Gastroenterology and the Oman GI Association, contributing significantly to the advancement of gastroenterology in Oman and beyond.

Dr. Mostafa Ibrahim is a Professor of Gastroenterology and Endoscopy at Theodor Bilharz Research Institute in Giza, Egypt, and Head of the Endoscopy Unit at Misr International Hospital. He also serves as a Visiting Consultant at Erasme University Hospital in Brussels, Belgium.

Dr. Mostafa is the founder of ROEYA Training Center, which has delivered over 400 national and international educational courses across the Middle East and Africa. He also established ROEYA Clinic, which has provided care for more than 70,000 patients over the past decade.

With a focus on advanced endoscopic techniques, Dr. Mostafa has published more than 40 articles in international journals. He was nominated as a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. He served as Chair of the International Committee of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) until May 2025 and was elected Councilor and Governing Board Member of the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE) in April 2025

Dr. D. Nageshwar Reddy is an Indian gastroenterologist who studied at the Kurnool Medical College. He is the chairman and founder of Asian Institute of Gastroenterology (AIG) at Hyderabad, the biggest gastroenterology hospital in the world.He received the Padma Shri award in 2002 and Padma Bhushan award in 2016.

An elected fellow of the National Academy of Medical Sciences,he was given the world's highest gastroenterology award in Shanghai, China, at a function held in September, 2013.He was conferred with the Rudolf V. Schindler Award, the highest category in the prestigious Crystal Awards named after Schindler, who is considered as “the father of gastroscopy” by American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE)

Dr. Pankaj Desai is the Director and Head of the Department of Endoscopy and EUS at SIDS Hospital & Research Centre in Surat, India. With 27 years of clinical experience, he is a highly skilled endoscopist. He holds fellowships from the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (FASGE), the Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy of India (FSGEI), and the Indian Society of Gastroenterology (FISG).

Dr. Desai has performed one of the largest series of ERCP, EUS, and third space endoscopy procedures in Gujarat. He is also a respected trainer, having taught many doctors in India and abroad. His contributions include over 100 research papers in international journals and several book chapters.

Dr. Prasanna Shah is a practising interventional metabolic endoscopist and Gastroenterologist attached at jaslok breach candy and saifee hospital. Has done his DNB  from Tata memorial hopsital mumbai and a reserch fellow from Mayo clinic rochester Trained with Dr Nageshwar Reddy at the prestigious AIG Hyderabad for advanced endoscopy.Has a vast experience in endobariatric procedures and interventional endoscopy.Special interest in Pancreas and has authothered a monogram on Managment of acute pancreatitis.

Dr. Prateek Sharma is a distinguished Professor of Medicine and Director of GI Fellowship Program at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He has made significant contributions to the diagnosis and management of esophageal diseases, GERD and Barrett’s esophagus.

He currently serves as President of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) and chairs the Artificial Intelligence Institute for Gastroenterology. 

With over 500 publications and features in major media outlets like CNN and the Wall Street Journal, Dr. Sharma is a leading figure in gastroenterology in the world. He has received several international awards including the World Endoscopy Organization Master Educator Award, the American Gastroenterological Association Research Mentor Award, and the ASGE Distinguished Endoscopic Mentoring Award.

Rupa Banerjee is a senior consultant gastroenterologist in the Department of Gastroenterology and the Director of the Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD) clinic at the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology, Hyderabad, India. She is also a part of the research faculty with the Asian Institute of Basic Sciences, Hyderabad.

Dr. Usama Al Farsi is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Head of the Gastroenterology Department at Nizwa Hospital, Oman. He graduated from Sultan Qaboos University in 2012 and completed his residency training in Internal Medicine through the Oman Medical Specialty Board. In 2022 ,he completed advanced training in Gastroenterology under the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland. He subsequently pursued sub-specialty training in Interventional Gastroenterology, with a focus on ERCP and EUS, at King’s College Hospital, London, in 2022
